“I’m old enough to recall when “cancel culture” was better known as consequences. So much for ‘cancel culture,’ which generally means boycotting or ghosting someone who has said or done something racist, sexist, anti-LGBTQ, or otherwise deeply objectionable. When such people face repercussions, they’re the first to decry a world overrun by humorless unforgiving politically correct snowflakes on yet another witch hunt.”

alwaysbewoke:

During a racist incident in my workplace years ago, people of color pushed back. A white male colleague lamented the passage of a time “when you could just say anything.” He didn’t recognize that those were miserable decades for women, people of color, and the LGBTQ community. You were expected to stay silent while your race, ethnicity, gender, or sexual identity was dragged to filth in front of your face. What was once OK for him was never OK for the rest of us.

Now these men, who believe simple common decency is a major affront to their manhood, can’t navigate a society where marginalized groups and their accomplices finally feel empowered enough to say “enough is enough.” As comedian Hannah Gadsby recently tweeted, “Pushing for a culture of respect is not the same thing as cancelling culture.”

this is why i’ve never condemned “cancel culture.” overwhemlingly those people go after racists, sexists, homophobes and other social degenerates. i’m supposed to condemn that? foh! like the writer said, this ain’t the time when you can just disrespect another human being for their race, gender and otherwise and get away with it. that time should have NEVER existed in the first place but it did and we’re not having it anymore. if your ass can’t deal with having to respect other fucking human beings your ass absolutely needs to be cancelled. fuckouttahere with the tears fucker! get your shit together or face consequences. does cancel culture” missfire every once in a while? sure. these are humans. there’s no expectation they would be perfect however it’s not the large percentage of the time that these “i want to be racist in peace” assholes would have you believe. overwhelmingly when these people (and i include myself among them) hammer someone, they 1000% deserve.

FOH! the fucked up thing is that these people who call themselves liberals and pro-black are always on this bullshit of giving racists another chance. they supposedly don’t want a racist world and yet at the same time aren’t willing to ever hold racists accountable for their actions. shut the fuck up.

like the writer brilliantly said, those days when you could desrespect a person’s humanity with no blowback cause that person is black, hispanic, asian, dark skin, disabled, bi, gay, muslim, native or a woman is over. people aren’t taking that shit anymore. they should have NEVER had to take that shit. that’s the thing these fuckers don’t get. that time when you can just make racist jokes was a BAD TIME. these crackers look upon that time fondly because they got to dehumanize other people and now that they can’t what they are showing is that dehumanization is a part of their culture. like paulo freire said:

conditioned by the experience of oppressing others, any situation other than their former seems to them like oppression. formerly, they could eat, dress, wear shoes, be educated, travel, and hear beethoven; while millions did not eat, had no clothes or shoes, nether studied nor traveled, much less listened to beethoven. any restriction on this way of life, in the name of the rights of the community, appears to the former oppressors as a profound violation of their individual rights–although they had no respect for the millions who suffered and died of hunger, pain, sorrow, and despair. for the oppressors, ‘human beings’ refers only to themselves; other people are ‘things.’ for the oppressors, there exists only one right: their right to live in peace, over against the right, not always even recognized, but simply conceded, of the oppressed to survival. and they make this concession only because the existence of the oppressed is necessary to their own existence.

How come semi trucks in Europe look like “toot toot :)” and in North America they look like “HONK HOOOOOOOONK >:|”

image

“Henlo I am big twuck pwease give me wots of woom tank u :)”

image

“I WILL FUCKING PANCAKE YOUR CUCK ASS”

image

@trainwreckgenerator why did you hide these in the tags

This suggests that Maximum Overdrive was Jurassic Park for motor vehicles.

I’m sorry, but that is misleading as hell. American and European trucks are bred for different purposes.

American trucks are bred for long hauls on largely straight roads. They can go for hours without a break. A European truck needs more breaks and a lighter load, and they would indeed take great internal damage if they tried to keep up with the Longsnout.

image

The European Shortsnout is not bred for looks, but for agility! They navigate the windy roads of Europe in a way that would be way too risky for the powerful, but more clumsy American truck. It is true that the European overheats faster at high speeds, that is the very reason that breaks every 4,5 hours are mandatory for both the truck and the handler and a day of driving can never be longer then 9 hours.

image

So, all in all, appreciate all of our trucks and our shared history, and be the responsible owner that gets the right breed for the right job.
